Institute of Science and Technology is bi-annually being publishing a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary science journal “Journal of Institute of Science & Technology (JIST)”. In the year 1978 it was started to publish with the name “Journal of Institute of Science (JIS)”. JIS has been transformed to the name “Journal of Institute of Science and Technology (JIST)” after the 7th volume published in 1984. From 1989 to 2001 the publication interrupted and from 2002 to 2012 it was published in every two years’ interval. From 2013 onward it is published two issues in a year. Initially it was only in the printed form and from the year 2014 it is available online.

JIST publishes original research papers, review articles, short communications/reports, comments and letters to the editor on all topics of different subjects of Science and Technology. It covers the field of Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Environment, Geology, Hydrology/meteorology, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics, Statistics, Zoology, Food Technology and allied areas. Author(s) should declare that the submitted work has not been published and is not being considered for publication, elsewhere.

JIST is indexed in Nepal Journals Online (NepJOL), which provides online publication. It is rated TWO-STARS by Journal Publishing Practices and Standards (JPPS) (assessed: 2019-01-14). Its ISSN number is 2469-9062 (print), 2467-9240 (online) and from volume 23 of the journal each articles have got DOI number.
